I am currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Communication, Michigan State University (MSU).
My current research interest includes computational social science, health communication, mobile analytics, and political communication. I am particularly interested in unraveling the structure & dynamics of human communication phenomena with various computational methods (e.g., network and spatial modeling, text mining, temporal and sequential modeling). I got my PhD in Communication from the Department of Media and Communication at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) in 2008. I am a research affiliate of
I was the founding member and inaugural chair (2016-2017) of the Computational Methods Interest Group (elevated to the Computational Methods Division in 2020) at the International Communication Association. I worked at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University from 2013 to 2016 and at the Faculty of Humanities and Arts, Macau University of Science and Technology from 2009 to 2013. I worked as a research fellow at the Web Mining Lab of CityU from 2008 to 2009. |
